Company Profile

With over a decade in the mining, civil and construction industry, we have acquired an honest reputation. Formed in 1999, Alliance Contracting is a privately owned Perth company actively managed by the founding directors, which gives us the ability to progress a project quickly and provide our clients with what they require.

We have in excess of 200 direct employees, a large fleet of equipment, and the experience and financial capability to work anywhere in Western Australia. Much of our work has been in the Pilbara, but we also work in the South West, Mid West and Goldfields.

Mark Breingan - Chief Executive Officer

Mark has directly participated in the Contracting Industry since 1986 in Australia and Overseas including Africa and Central Asia. His management experience extends across a number of disciplines including open cut mining, dam construction, plant site and road construction. Mark is well acquainted with completing projects logistically challenging in nature and the implementation of management systems appropriate to such locations.

Ian Phippard - Business Development Director

Ian is a founding shareholder in Alliance Contracting with over 40 years experience in the Civil Construction and Mining industries in Western Australia and Queensland.

Mathew Miller - Manager - Mining

B.Eng (Civil)
Matt commenced his working career early 1999 and has gathered experience working on Projects throughout Western Australia. Matt has an unrestricted Quarry Managers Certificate and has been involved in the running of both large scale and small scale Open Cut Mining Projects. Matts Civil experience has been mainly involved with Highway Construction, Road Maintenance, medium scale Earthmoving Projects and small scale Construction Projects. Matt has proven budgetary compliance, planning and systems Management skills.

Adam Miles - Manager - Civil

B.Eng (Civil)
Adam has been working within the civil construction industry for more than 10 years. He has gathered a broad range of experience involving extensive Earthworks, Roadworks, Underground Services, Retaining Structures, Pump Stations, Pipelines, Dewatering and other works associated with the Civil Infrastructure industry working in various areas of Western Australia as well as in Victoria, NSW and Queensland. Adam has proven Project Financial Cost Control and Budgetary compliance, Project Planning and Systems Management skills.

Frank Cosoleto - Contracts Manager

B.Eng (Civil) MIEAust GAICD
Frank is a civil engineer with over 35 years experience in civil engineering construction and corporate management. Frank has also been involved in a large mine development project where he was directly responsible for the engineering, design and construction of the major infrastructure components of rail, port, power and process water.

Keith Rowlands - Equipment/Asset Manager

Keith has 30 years experience in the mechanical industry, both in Australia and Overseas including China and Central Asia. Qualifications include a Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, and Certificate IV in Assessment and Workplace Training.

Peter Bell - Chief Financial Officer

MBA, CPA, B.Com
Peter is a Certified Practicing Accountant who has over fifteen years combined national and international accounting experience, holds a degree in Commerce and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Western Australia.

Andrew Collier - Human Resources Manager

Dip. PA and Dip. HRM.
Andrew has over 15 years experience in Training, Industrial Relations and Human Resources with a career beginning in the Information Technology Sector and then for the past 8 years in the Mining and Construction Industries. He has held a number of diverse Corporate, Site and Project roles both nationally and internationally. Andrew's experience in hands-on environments coupled with strategic initiative brings great Human Resources and Employee Relations knowledge and experience to the Company.

Andrew Campbell - Corporate HSEQ Manager

Andrew has been involved in the medical and safety industries for the past 30 years, having worked for 21 years in the Australian Army as a Medic, Pathology Technician (clinical and malaria research) and Medical Intelligence Officer. Since leaving the Army Andrew undertook positions as a Process Analyst, Safety Advisor, Training Manager, Quality Manager, Business Analyst and Auditor and was instrumental in Alliance achieving certification in AS 4801 and ISO 14001. Andrew is an active member of several professional organisations and holds a post graduate qualification in HR Management, Diplomas in Frontline Management, Occupational Health and Safety, Medical Intelligence and Clinical Pathology.

    Alliance Contracting founded.

    First major contract upgrading the mines access road to Yandi Mine sites for BHP and Rio Tinto.

  • December

    Upgraded airstrip, access roads, culverts and concrete crossings for Hamersley Iron.

2000

  • August

    Update Yandi access road for BHP.

  • October

    Upgrade Hammersley Iron Yandicoogina air strip and access road.

2001

  • January

    Equipment Hire at Pannawonica Robe River Iron.

  • April

    Leach Pad Construction at Nifty Mine Site for Straits Resources.

  • August

    Plant Hire at Nifty & Brockman Mine sites for Rio Tinto.

2002

  • December

    Haul Road Construction, Mine & Crush Micascious Iron Ore at Mount Gould.

2003

  • November

    Alliance purchased their first Komatsu Excavator.

2004

  • February

    Equipment Hire at Wodgina for Roche Mining.

  • April

    Civil and Mining Works at Whim Creek for Straits Resources.

  • May

    Alliance purchased their first batch of Komatsu Dump Trucks.

  • October

    Opened Port Hedland Depot.

2005

  • February

    Equipment Hire at Telfer for Newcrest Mining.

  • October

    Civil works and trial mining at Cloud Break for FMG.

  • November

    Alliance purchased their first new Mack Service Truck.

2006

  • February

    Initial Centre Line Clearing from Cloud Break to Port Hedland working for FMG.

  • October

    Miscellaneous Civil Works at Anderson Point working for FMG.

  • December

    Alliance purchased their first CAT Front End Loader.

2007

  • October

    Strip, stockpile load & haul Topsoil and Gravel, at Boddington for Newmont. BGM in full
    operation will be the biggest in Australia, delivering gold and copper for its joint venture
    owners.

2008

  • January

    Re-mining Heap Leach Pads at Whim Creek for Straits Resources.

  • February

    Equipment Hire for Pluto Project working for BGC Contracting.

  • March

    Alliance purchased 4 new Komatsu dump trucks, increasing their fleet.

  • April

    Upgrade Access Kintyre for Mega Uranium.

  • May

    Opened Karratha Depot.

  • June

    Won first contracts for Woodside through CB∓I and Decmil with Woodside, Australias largest
    publicly traded oil and gas exploration and production company and one of the worlds leading
    producers of liquefied natural gas.

  • August

    Miscellaneous Services Agreement contract made between Alliance Contracting and Pilbara Iron.

2009

  • February

    Started working for Mermaid Marine constructing barge ramp.

  • March

    Awarded accreditation in AS/NZ ISO 9001.

  • April

    Accredited to work for Woodside Gas Plant independently.

  • September

    Accredited to work for FWW Pluto Project.

  • October

    Establishment of Mt Regal Quarry.

  • November

    Contract awarded for Bauxite extraction mining at Boddington Gold Mine.

2010

  • February

    Mining works at Randalls Gold Project for Integra Mining Ltd.

    Civil works at the Kwinana Facility for CB&I.

  • May

    Early civil works at Spinifex Ridge for Moly Mines.

    Awarded accreditation in AS4801 and ISO 14001.

  • July

    Completed Boddington Bauxite Project.

  • September

    Fencing project at Pluto for Woodside.

2011

  • March

    Start work on Maxwell's Mine for Integra.

  • August

    Received letter of intent for a new three year mining contract in the Mid West.
